F-One Source Kite 2011

The F-One Source is a new 2 line kite designed for a multitude of users but with one main aim - to get more people on the water kiting more often. Aimed at riding in super light winds and designed to be coupled with a Stand Up Paddle board!

Using a bigger board like a SUP is totally changing the need for power. With a two-line kite, only 8 knots of wind, and a SUP board, you can start planing and feel that big board flying above the glassy water.

You can take inexperienced friends and family to the beach, take them on the water, and share your passion. You can bring them on your board for a ride and have fun, a true summer sport. For expert riders it can also be good to try new tricks. Unhooked power jibes on the Source give you the feeling of a bottom turn.

Light Wind Kiting: When the winds are as little a 4-8 knots - the combination of a Source and a SUP (Stand-Up Paddle Bard) or your exisiting big surfboard will see you on the water in winds lighter that you could have imagined in the past.

It also make kiting on the water safe as the board speed slower and the kite very stable and predicable and if the wind does drop to nothing it's a simple paddle in on a big board. The F-One Source allows short coast runs and trips a truly viable option!

Existing SUP Users: This F-One Source will offer those who already have SUP boards an option for when the wind starts to pick up and make paddling difficult. The kites canl be an add-on to what you already have. The Source packs up into a small rucksack that can be put onto your back and yet still allow you to paddle with ease.

For Learning: There must have been so many days this season when you simply couldn't learn as the wind was too light. The volume of the SUP board which lets you stay up at all times and reduces the need for power in the kite. You just need enough power to keep your balance on the board, not to mention that you can even control the kite by sitting down! This practice is much more reassuring because it can be done in very light wind conditions and flat water. The training period with a SUP kite will be shorter because learning is faster. The Source will also open kitesurfing up to all ages - imagine those who have been put off because of scary experiences trying to learn in strong winds.
