Kiteboarding Weather Wind and Tidal Conditions in UK
Kiteboarding UK Weather Guide. Check out the local conditions before you go kiting.Kiteboarding UK Weather Guide. Check out the local conditions before you go kiting.
To find out what wind direction and conditions we need in Lowestoft for ideal kiteboarding conditions, and at other locations around the UK go to the Where button down the right hand side
http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml?id=2897
A five day weather forecast generally only accurate up to two days ahead has a real time weather station showing wind real time way off Lowestoft.Still very handy. We don't trust it around holiday periods as it always gets it wrong but normally it's good maybe they all knock off early and go party when its a bank holiday.

Amoving picture of wind being generated local. Press the play button at the bottom left of the chart.
http://www.xcweather.co.uk/
XC is a real time wind report. Please be aware that the bouy/wind indicator out at sea does not pick up local winds/sea breezes on Lowestoft seafront as many times we have be kiteboarding and the wind is nowhere to be seen on XC. This wind station is a long way out in the North Sea. But generally this site is very accurate. Norwich Airport is the best indicator for what is happening in Lowestoft and you can generally add 3-6 mph to this for the wind on the coast. This is a great website.
 http://www.windfinder.com/forecasts/wind_british_isles_akt.htm
http://www.windguru.cz
Set this one up to read UK Lowestoft and your away. Make sure you read wind speed in MPH. This site generally reads high by about 3 to 6 MPH, but does tell you the approach of the weather systems and from this you can work it out as most weather patterns follow similar patterns. Ideal and very accurate to the hour. Very good at predicting swaully, bad frontal weather patterns. Obviously avoid these conditions.

KiteboardingUK.com IKO/BKSA Kiteboarder courses. Our school opens on April 3rd when we will begin a 3 day course. We suggest you book ASAP as the courses will be
Busy.
Below is true IKO/BKSA standards info as well as the blue KUK info we have added.

General Outlook for the year. In April, I expect the lessons to be the most difficult due to the water temperatures and air temperatures, however we are continuing to kitesurf through out winter and its possible but don't expect it to be a picnic, bring good clothing, woolly hats, heavy jackets, gloves, flask of warm coffee, chocolate and good supply of food and drink.
In the water you will need a full 5/3 mm winter wetsuits gloves and boots as well as a wetsuits balaclava. It's better to cook than freeze.
Come May we will be into the longer evenings and air and water temps start to warm.
Summer, very comfortable, in August you can free surf in boardshorts on the east coast it even gets warmer water temps than the south west of England. Of course while the rest of the country goes into wind drought. KiteboardingUK.com of the east coast will be taking full advantage of the sea breezes that have been generated offshore of Lowestoft/Kessingland since I was born and of course flat water.

We expect you to bring your own wetsuits etc. We can supply and we are willing to supply wetsuits with good discounts to you if you are taking a Kiteboarding course with us.
We also hire wetsuits but we have limited numbers of hire suits.
What is good, is that we can forward you sizing charts in advance of your lessons and your order your suit in advance so when you arrive you have your discounted wetsuits etc waiting for you. Wetsuits charts are very accurate for sizing in 2004 and with the stretch in the latest materials you are going to get a good fit. All you have to do is measure up correctly
